I was approached last week to take part in a new podcast called 'Making Do'
I had been listening to new episodes on a weekly basis and was really inspired by the guests and their stories of ingenuity and 'making do' in these hard times. The podcast host Emily approached me on hearing about the vast number of masks I have been making both to donate and to sell and wanted to include my story in the series.
Making Do was started by the team at Wholesale In a Box in March, 2020. Wholesale In a Box is a subscription service that helps makers handmade lines into brick-and-mortar stores.
They began seeing first-hand how severely the stores and makers have been affected by the pandemic. But they also noticed the incredible ingenuity, generosity, and innovation amongst makers. So the podcast series shares stories of the challenges makers are facing as well as creative approaches they're experimenting with.
I was hesitant at first to say yes as it was truly way out of my comfort zone. I am not someone who is at home in front of the camera (or microphone!) But I pushed through those feelings and agreed to take part. I am so happy I did! My chat with Emily went really well and I hope it helps makers to think of different ways they can make do.
