As a busy Mom of two when I am choosing products for the home I always buy organic when I can. I am cautious about what foods my kids eat and try and maintain a healthy balance between being as eco-friendly as possible without being obsessed!

I spent many years working in Namibia in Southern Africa where as a volunteer in the rural northern region I was surrounded by a dusty savannah of over grazed and deforested land. I saw the devastating reality of a once richly furtile land now only home to desert dwellers. This is a photo of me with one of the womens co-operative basket weaving groups I worked closely with.

At So Handmade I strive to use organic and eco friendly materials, reuse packaging and fabric scraps where I can and teach my kids the importance of looking after the planet for many generations to come.
